Dr. Roel Vertegaal
Dr. Roel Vertegaal is a Professor of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) at Queen’s University's School of Computing in Kingston, Ontario, and director of the Human Media Laboratory. He is also CEO of Xuuk, Inc., a startup that develops ubiquitous eye input applications. Roel's first degree is in Electronic Music from Utrecht Conservatory in the Netherlands. He did an MSc in Computing in Britain, studied design in The Hague, and holds a PhD in HCI from Twente University. Roel is one of the world's experts on eye communication between humans, and between humans and technology. His work on Attentive User Interfaces (AUI) [Google TechTalk], which was featured in media across the globe, from Good Morning America to Scientific American. Roel helped create the first North-American conference on Eye Tracking (ACM ETRA), established alt.chi as the alternative papers venue at the annual ACM SIGCHI conference and advised the National Academy of Sciences. His current interest is in Organic User Interfaces.

Justin Lee
Justin is a researcher who is exploring how computers can be integrated into common objects, clothing, and spaces. His goal for these new interactions is to make our lives happy, fun, and better.Jesse Burstyn
Jesse Burstyn is a PhD student at the Human Media Lab.
During his MSc at the HML, his focus was on natural and organic user interfaces, including non-planar and flexible displays, a well as in-air gestural interactions.
Aneesh Tarun
Aneesh Tarun is a PhD student starting Sept. 2010. He obtained his Master's in HCI at Georgia Tech, and his undegraduate degree at Visvesvahariah Tech in India.
David Holman
David Holman is a PhD student who studies the emerging area of Organic User Interfaces. He is currently examining how flexible and expandable displays will impact our experience with mobile phones. He is also researching how eye input can be used as an input channel in a multi-touch tabletop setting. He can be reached at holman@cs.queensu.ca
